Dr Abdel Munem Samara has been the Director General of the Department of Lands & Survey since 1997. Before this position he worked as a Manager for Lands & Rural Development in the Jordan Valley Authority (1988-1997). Earlier, from 1981-88, he worked as an engineer in the Royal Jordanian Geographic Center (RJGC) then as dean of the RJGC College (1981-1988). Dr. Samara graduated in 1981 from one of the French universities in Geomatics Engineering. He is a member of the 7th Committee in FIG, and has been the Secretary of the Arab Union of Surveyors (AUS) since it was establishment.
