Mark B. Carhart

Mark Carhart is the Director of International Defense for Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging, LLC (LLGI). Prior to assuming his current role he served for the Commanding General of Multi-National Forces-Iraq as a Legislative Liaison Officer while on Army Active duty. His previous role in LGGI was the Program Manager for the widely successfully Softcopy Search Research and Development effort for the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA). Carhart worked as an Instructor and Technical Advisor for the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency in Washington, D.C. from 1997 - 2001. He has served in a variety of U.S. Army Field Engineering units with duties as a Company Commander, Executive Officer, and Platoon Leader in Europe, Kuwait, and the Pacific Rim. Carhart graduated from the United States Military Academy with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering in 1989. He received his Masters of Science in Defense Geographic Information from Cranfield University in Swindon, Oxfordshire, England in 1997, where he also received the prestigious Cranfield Prize and Simpson-Leica Award.
