Conference Date and Venue
The conference and the exhibition shall be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, in Dubai, UAE from 26-29 March 2005. The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) was built by H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai. DWTC is considered one of Dubai's premier landmark properties and business locations. Today, the complex comprises the original 39-storey office tower, eight exhibition halls, the Dubai International Convention Centre, which can accommodate more than 6,500 delegates in its multipurpose hall when set in auditorium style, a business club, and residential apartments with a leisure club. The Dubai World Trade Centre has been at the forefront of exhibition organising in the Middle East for more than 20 years.
Visa
The hotel of stay provides visa assistance in general. You need to send scanned copy of the front and back of your passport & credit card for visa processing. The hotel charges for visa processing. (The application should be sent to the hotel 20 days before the scheduled departure date)
Currency
Foreign exchange counter will be available at the venue of the conference for easy exchange of currencies for visiting foreign delegates. 'Dirham' is the official currency of the UAE. The Dirham is index linked to the US dollar and the official exchange rate is Dirham 3.67 = US Dollar 1.00. Major credit cards are accepted in Dubai.
Language
English is the official language of Map Middle East 2006 conference considering its international nature. Arabic is the official language throughout the country. However, English, Hindi, Urdu and Farsi are also widely spoken.
Weather
The weather of Dubai is idyllic from November to April with warm sunny days and cool evenings. Daytime temperatures range from 20 to 32 degrees C with mild humid conditions.
Clothing
Lightweight clothes are generally suitable throughout the year including winter.
