ISPRS Conference
ISPRS is an international NGO devoted to the development of international cooperation for the advancement of research and development in the photogrammetry, remote sensing and spatial information sciences, their integration and application, to contribute to the well being of humanity.
An exclusive Conference on Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry is being hosted by Map Middle East 2007 under the umbrella of ISPRS (International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing) and co-organized by GIS Development, India and Dubai Municipality, UAE. The ISPRS Conference at Map Middle East 2007 will be an International gathering aimed at regional and international cooperation by bringing together prominent experts, researchers, manufacturers, and users in one forum to discuss, examine, and disseminate latest advances in the field.
The ISPRS Conference will conduct various technical sessions to discuss and deliberate the various issues on remote sensing, photogrammetry and advanced geospatial technologies as beneficial tools for the betterment of people and sustainability of the environment through various applications.
This conference invites papers under the following topics,
1. State-of-the-art technologies and methods in Photogrammetry, and Remote Sensing
In the recent years new technologies have entered the arena of remote sensing; laser ranging (LIDAR), Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR), digital cameras, digital stereo workstations and hyperspectral sensors, just to name a few. These complex and diverse technologies offer new opportunities and have transformed the realm of geospatial information. ISPRS invites such research topics for presentation under this window.
2. State-of-the-art sensors and mapping
The session invites papers on the research and development works on the usage of sensor technologies in large-scale mapping, engineering applications, airborne and ground based laser scanning, mobile mapping etc.
3. Applications of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing
ISPRS invites people to present papers with a focus on regional issues in the application of photogrammetry and remote sensing on the below mentioned topics:
- Environmental assessment
- Natural resource management
- Disasters monitoring and risk management
- Mineral and Oil Exploration
- Desertification monitoring
- Coastal monitoring
- Oil spill monitoring
- Water resources and GIS
- Monitoring of sand movements
4. Integration of images with GIS
The use and integration of images in GIS is ubiquitous these days. With many applications demanding a variety of satellite data, the use of vector and raster data becoming very familiar these days, this emergence of Images in GIS and its scenario needs to be addressed. This session invites papers on usage and integration of raster data into GIS applications.
5. Algorithms and mathematical models
This technical session invites papers on several topics covered under image processing with special emphasis on mathematical modeling. Research topics like image data compression, image analysis, pattern inspection, VLSI architectures of image processing and computer vision algorithms etc will be under focus in this session.
6. Earth Observation for the benefit of society
The earth observation technologies of space borne and airborne have revolutionised our understanding of the Earth and how it works. This initiative invites people to submit papers and case studies on the usage of Space and air borne technologies aimed at the benefit of societies.
