Map Middle East 2007- the Third Annual Conference on Geospatial Information, Technologies and Applications
20th Dec. 2006,Dubai, UAE: Map Middle East 2007, the 3rd Annual Conference and Exhibition on Geospatial Information, Technologies and Applications is scheduled to be held from April 9th to 11th, 2007 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Dubai, UAE. The conference is being jointly organized by GIS Development (India) and Dubai Municipality (UAE) which would embrace on all aspects of geospatial technologies & their applications. Over the years Map Middle East has emerged as the single regional forum for geospatial professionals.
GeoSpatial Convergence – The Next Step, being the theme for the conference, this emerging area, its relevance, applications and other related aspects will be discussed by the research, industry intellects.
Under the umbrella of Map Middle East an exclusive Conference on Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry is being hosted by ISPRS (International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing), which is being co-organized by GIS Development, India and Dubai Municipality, UAE.
In focus would be GeoSpatial Executive Leadership Forum with theme GeoSpatial Enterprises will have personalities from leading organizations from the geospatial industry & academia addressing the participants on project management, leadership challenges, various successful business development strategies etc. The Forum is meant to enable executives/managers from the government and corporate sectors to differentiate, grow and defend themselves within their unit, within the organization and the organization within the industry.
Also a part of the conference would be a Round Table Discussion on Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI). A great development has been recorded, particularly in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. This discussion forum on Spatial Data Infrastructure will review the status of SDI activities within the various organizations using Geo-information on local and national levels.
This year’s conference will also witness seminars as a part of Map Middle East 2007. The topics that are considered are in respect to the ongoing development and progress in different verticle segments like Construction, growing demands for Oil & Gas and the geospatial world moving towards open source in terms of software/data and standards.
