10 April 2006: MAPS geosystems, a provider of Aerial Photography, Satellite Imagery and Geographic Data throughout the Middle East and Africa has been awarded a USD 4.5 million contract by the Presidential Office of the Republic of Yemen on March 26. The contract is to provide digital mapping of over 450,000 kmē, covering the entire territory of Yemen, including Socotra and the offshore islands. It involves aerial photography and digital processing of over 16,000 stereo models, including the production of a high grade Digital Terrain Model, and is to be to be completed in 13 months.
