ESRI’s 6th Annual MEA User Conference to be held in Dubai
|
ESRI has announces that its 6th Annual Middle East and African (MEA) User Conference will be staged in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from October 8–10, 2002.
Hosted by GISTEC, the longtime distributor of ESRI software in the UAE, the conference will be held at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel. It is restricted to registered users of ESRI software.
The first day of presentations will conclude with a reception inaugurating the official opening of the always-popular ESRI Map Gallery, a graphic presentation of GIS in action.
Other activities include the presentation of technical papers, industry discussions, workshops, map presentations, and an exhibitor pavilion featuring a comprehensive trade show with many hardware, software, and technology companies.
A number of ESRI Certified training courses will be offered both before and after the conference. This is a good opportunity to develop new GIS skills or refine existing ones. For course details and costs, visit the GISTEC Web site at http://www.gistec.com/mea2002.
“The aim of this year’s MEA User Conference is to help educate our valued users and partners. We must be aware that knowledge is not always gained solely from the experts but often from our colleagues and peers within the industry. By sharing knowledge, we can strengthen our local GIS community and improve our power to do effective business. Let us meet together, share our experiences, and learn from each other at the largest gathering of GIS professionals in this region,” comments Mohamed Abuziad, managing director of GISTEC.
More than 600 users of ESRI software from the Middle East and Africa are expected to attend the conference. The event will provide a wealth of information from ESRI staff, exhibitors, users, and business partners.
