Map Middle East 2005 launched

The launch of Map Middle East, the largest conference and tradeshow of its kind aimed to address the Middle East region, was announced by Dubai Municipality, UAE, on Monday amongst an august gathering of key industry players, government departments and research community of the region. The event is scheduled for 23-25 April 2005.


The theme for the event is 'Geospatial Information And Knowledge Economy’ and will serve the need of the Middle East of having a platform to discuss, deliberate and exchange knowledge and technology. The conference would focus geographic information technologies like GIS, GPS, Remote Sensing and Aerial Photography.

A number of organisations – from private and government - in the region, have joined hands to support the event. National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, Egypt, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, General Organisation of Remote Sensing (GORS), Syria, Iranian Remote Sensing Centre, Iran and National Center for Remote Sensing, National Council for Scientific Research, Lebanon are the supporting organizations Map Middle East. Industry has already started joining hands.
